Just installed the game and TSH and going through the training missions. I can't land the carrier using the ACLS, I always get a "bolter". Following all the steps in the manual.

Unfortunately, this is an artifact of faster computers. It's the same reason AI aircraft bolter. This is probably in the TSH to-do list. It most likely has to do with system timing and program threading.

Thanks. I actually managed to land the plane on the carrier manually on my very first try, though it had more to do with luck than anything else.

Grats to ya mate. Don't forget to use the IFLOLS shift B when 2.0nm from the back of the boat and ILS for line up I key. Sorry to say that you need more then luck to land on a carrier, you just got mad skills like the rest of us.
Welcome.
Bonkers.
