Color gradient problems with XP

Hi,
Trying to make hornet work on XP since to this day is unmatched in realism. Everything seems normal except for color gradient problems with water missles,sun,etc...and then also the HUD with the small fonts. I followed the Graphics FAQ and still can't get it to work and tried experimenting with all graphics settings on my card. I have an nvidia geforce 6800 and an amd 3500+ all up to date drivers and even experimented with older drivers for the geforce...any help greatly appreciated....too distracting to not have smooth color gradients....thanks......Nick

This is called color banding and is a problem with nVidia 6600 and 6800 cards. It is not in the graphics FAQ because it is a recently discovered problem and we are still experimenting with possible solutions.

I have a 9800 GTX, any updates or ideas for this now?
