TSHv3 Manual - Requirements and Installation
Some TSHv3 features are not present when Jane's F/A-18 is run in Warfare mode. When run in Normal mode, all TSHv3 features will work as designed. WarfareFix-TSHv3 compatibility is planned for a future TSH release.
If WarefareFix is currently NOT installed
1. If desired, backup your existing Jane's F/A-18 installation. The simplest and quickest way to do this is to copy your entire FA-18 folder (by default located in C:\Program Files\Jane's Combat Simulations) and paste it elsewhere. Alternatively, if hard drive space is short, only the files overwritten by TSHv3 can be backed up. A complete list of file names and paths included in TSHv3 can be found here.
2. Run the TSHv1 installer.
3. If any of the packages marked below are checked, uncheck them. All other packages that are not mutually exclusive may remain checked. Note: Objects Packages Parts 1 and 2 should be installed to ensure compatibility with the new TSHv3 unified landpal format.
4. Press "Apply." Unchecked packages will be uninstalled.
5. Press "Close." The TSHv1 installer will close. All TSHv1 capability that you have just removed is present in TSHv3.
6. Download TSHv3.03 from the TSH website. There are two versions of TSHv3.03, the full version with a new intro movie [TSHv3.03.zip (26.6MB)] and much smaller version without the movie [TSHv3.03_no_movie.zip (4.7MB)]. The new intro movie can be downloaded separately [TSHv3_movie_only.zip (21.9MB)].
Note that if you are using a version of TSHv3 prior to TSHv3.03, you should download and install the TSHv3.0 to 3.03 patch which updates TSHv3, TSHv3.01, and TSHv3.02 to TSHv3.03.
7. Unzip the download(s) to the FA-18 folder; it must go in this folder. Ensure the option to USE FOLDER NAMES is enabled in WinZip (it is by default) or use the appropriate option in any other unzipper to maintain the folder structure during extraction. Allow THSv3 files to overwrite existing files. TSHv3 is now installed.
To revert to your install before TSHv3: Copy your backed-up files and paste them back in the FA-18 folder, overwriting existing files. If the entire FA-18 folder is backed up, delete the FA-18 folder with TSHv3, then paste in the backup folder in its place.
If WarefareFix IS currently installed
